National Gardens Open Garden

Lots of extra hard work by girls, staff, parents and the grounds team went on this spring to ensure the gardens would be looking their absolute best, for this, Hanford’s first ever open garden.

This summer the walled garden and the Victorian knot garden will both be home to a blaze of floral colour including wall flowers, iris and roses, providing all the cut flowers needed to decorate the school from spring to summer and for Wednesday’s floristry activity. The peonies are coming on a treat and their short season in May is always much anticipated.

This year Hanford over wintered their chrysanthemums which are already in bloom adding volume to the new varieties planted in April.
