Mini UN Debate at Clayesmore

Here is an update from Tilly B who was at this fascinating event.

It was an incredible day. All the girls had an amazing time. It was a brilliant opportunity to have been chosen to attend.

We got up to lots of interesting things. We were a group of 5 and we were split into 3 groups. Tilly B and Constance W were in one group and they were debating for hydro-electricity and encouraged us to think about how we could have a less polluted world. They had to talk persuasively to encourage the other countries to agree to their ideas around hydro power, wind power and soar power. They did extremely well and were commended and received a certificate.

Bea T and Marta H were given the topic of xhenophobia. They appeared on camera and had to be interviewd about the subject. They described the issue extremely well and managed to cover a lot of ground in their time.

Halcyon went solo and debated about human trafficking. She also appeared on camera being interviewed about the very difficult subject she had been given. She did extremely well and went onto  win a prize as best delegate.

It was a splendid day and experience and thank you very much to Clayesmore for organising such a valuable event.
