After a good crossing on the Barfleur from Poole to Cherbourg the Vth form headed to the school in Vallognes to practice their French at a questions and answers session with the girls and boys in Year 6.
We then headed east to St Vaast where they took a little boat over the Island of Tatihou and stayed at the Marine Biology centre, spending an enjoyable and interesting afternoon exploring the beach and searching for shells.
The next day dawned bright and sunny for their return to the mainland. The next stop was Bayeux where the girls were able to practice their French on the Market stallholders and enjoy some pastires in a local café. A trip to Bayeux would not be complete without seeing the famous Bayeux Tapestry where Mrs Northey was on hand to give the girls a historical introduction.
On our final day we headed back to the port via a Goat Farm where the girls learnt how Goat’s Cheese is made and were able to tase a sample.
The girls garnered positive comments from all their hosts as their behaviour was exemplary.
