Story Book Workshop

Girls living locally to Hanford, aged 7-9, were invited to join a Storybook Workshop collaboratively run by the English and art department. They where also joined by the IIIrd form.

In the morning girls were invited to take their imaginations on a wander round the gardens where they were asked to think about how it might look, feel, smell and sound to a tiny creature or a fairy. 

Then it was down to work on their story. Using a Hanford House frame they set out their plan.  After a talk about creative writing they began to put pen to paper. 

In the afternoon Lucy joining them to help illustrate their books being called upon to draw squirrels, fairies, mermaids and elephants.
