Last Saturday Hanford School was host to the Portman Hunt Meet. After days of rain the sun finally broke through the clouds to shine just in time for the start. This year around 123 riders took part, 60 of which were children. There was a great atmosphere in the morning as riders gathered in front of the house to served drinks and refreshments by the girls. One of the highlights of Hanford Meet is the use of the nearby Portman Hunt’s cross country course as it has smaller jumps more suitable younger riders.
It was terrific to see so many familiar faces amongst the crowd of supporters as Old Hanford Girls, parents and current pupils turned out to follow the hunt for a most enjoyable day.
