The girls of year III had the whole of the Ancient Technology Centre to themselves last week. During the day they went back in time to see where things come from, how the world has changed and how the seasons affected our ancesters. They ATC has six full sized recontstructions of ancient buildings from an iron age earthhouse to a viking longhouse. They had a fun day looking at historial and archaeological evidence and getting their hands dirty carrying water, grinding flour, working lathes and basket weaving.
IIIrd Form are studying the Anglo Saxons and the Vikings this term so a trip to the ATC was a wonderful way to bring this period of history to life for them.
